Description: Actuate BIRT has been noted as the only leader in Open Source Business Intelligence by Forrester – it does count for something, right?! Well, this session is a basic primer on what BIRT is all about, including a comprehensive live demo of running BIRT reports and BIRT-based dashboards. From a brief history of BIRT to the latest version, learn how BIRT is making strides in the areas of Rich Information Applications, Mobile BI, Cloud-based deployment, etc. This session will also make it clear with a simple checklist as to what parts of BIRT are 100% Free/Open Source, and what are the additional commercial value-add aspects from Actuate.

Speaker: Aamir Khwaja is a Manager in Actuate’s Professional Services division. Aamir has over 10 years experience with Actuate/BIRT products, collaborating with multi-national clients in sectors such as Financial, Publishing, Hospitality, Telecommunications and Government.

Sahil Kedar is a Technical Account Manager at Actuate. Sahil specializes in presenting live demos of BIRT to prospects and customers, as well as helping customers evaluate the various components in the Actuate/BIRT product suite.
