Abstract: Bill will provide a short introduction to REST along with an explanation of the JAX-RS specification and how you can build RESTful web services with it. He will then get into how REST intersects with middleware services like messaging, transactions, and workflow.

Bill Burke is a Fellow at the JBoss division of Red Hat. A longtime JBoss contributor and architect, he has founded many projects, including JBoss Clustering, AOP, EJB 3.0, and RESTEasy. He was a JCP Expert Group member for the Java EE 5, EJB 3.0, and JAX-RS specifications. Bill is also author of O’Reilly’s “EJB 3.0 5th Edition” and “RESTFul Java with JAX-RS” as well as numerous online and in-print articles.
